The Amerex A344T 1.25 lbs Halon 1211 BCF Fire Extinguisher (Class B:C) is the smallest Amerex Halon fire extinguisher often kept in cockpits and cabins. With a UL rating of 2B:C, it is recommended for fighting Class B (flammable liquids and gases) and Class C (electrical) fires in a 4-seater or smaller aircraft. Classified as a “Clean Agent” by the NFPA, Halon does not leave any residue that can damage computers, engines, and other expensive equipment on board. The A344T model comes with a specialized valve for aircraft installation. It is available in red or chrome finish.

Halon 1211 is a liquefied, compressed gas that is used for “streaming” or applications where you need to direct a stream of liquid agent to a fire. It extinguishes fire by breaking the chain reaction of the three elements of fire: oxygen, heat, and fuel. It is often used to extinguish small fires in aviation engines that occur due to the pooling of fuel when the engine fails to start. Halon 1211 quickly penetrates hard-to-reach areas, does not cause cold or static shock, and does not impair the operator’s vision. It’s also safe to use around humans in confined spaces because of its low toxicity level. The Amerex A344T can reach 9-12 feet when discharged, with a discharge time of 10 seconds.
