The Sharpoint™ PolySyn™ Violet Braided Polyglycolic Acid Side Cutting Lancet Sutures, 12 per Box are extraordinarily smooth and low friction synthetic suture designed to hold body tissue after an injury or surgery through the critical wound healing period.

Functional and Useful Construction. Made with sterile and absorbable materials, the PolySyn™ Polyglycolic Acid Sutures can easily be broken down and taken in by the patient's body over a sufficient time which promotes full healing and recovery of the wound. It can essentially be absorbed between 49 to 63 days but has a complete mass absorption in 50 to 90 days and has a Breaking Strength Retention (BSR) of 50% at 2 weeks and 20% at 3 weeks. The Suture is violet braided and coated which reduces tissue drag. It is double-armed (has a needle at each end) and, depending on the chosen size, a suggested usage indication. The Size 5-0 is an optimal choice for large vessel repair and skin closure tendon repair while the Size 6-0 is great for small vessel repair/grafting and fine suturing on the hand/nailbed & face. The Suture has a needle with a curvature fraction of 1/4C and a Side Cutting Lancet Point Type. The Ethicon Vicryl™ Micropoint Reverse Cutting Spatula Sutures, 1/4 Circle (J544G) is an alternative choice.
