ECG CARDIOLOGY PRODUCTS & BUYER'S GUIDE

Electrocardiography, or the measurement and interpretation of the electrical activity of the heart, is a vital component of many standard diagnostic testing procedures. An electrocardiograph, better known as an EKG or ECG, is an external device that records cardiac activity over a period of time for analysis. Tiger Medical Supplies offers a full line of EKGs, ranging from simple, portable devices to full-sized exercise monitors with equipment.

OUR BEST SELLER

The Burdick ELI 230 ECG is a portable and easy-to-use 12-lead resting EKG machine for pediatric and adult patients with full-size printouts. It has a high-resolution colored LCD screen that provides a real-time preview of 3-, 8-, or 12-lead ECG. It is compatible with the optional Mortara Veritas interpretation algorithm that uses age and gender-specific criteria to provide a second opinion on the ECG results. The ELI 230 is compact, lightweight, and can be powered with its rechargeable battery or with a power supply.

ECG BUYER'S GUIDE

CHOOSING THE RIGHT ECG MACHINE FOR YOUR PRACTICE

ECG Machines are highly advanced devices that cardiologists use to conduct electrocardiogram (ECG), a medical test used to diagnose cardiovascular conditions such as arrhythmia, coronary heart disease, cardiomyopathy, and others.

ECG machines have become modernized in the past decades with the addition of efficiency-boosting features. While older models have no or small LCD screens, modern ECGs have large digital screens for easy viewing of results, allowing operators to preview results before printing to avoid wasting paper. Some even have touchscreen displays for a more intuitive interface.

Many ECGs also now have keyboards and barcode scanning for easy patient data input, wireless EMR connectivity to dramatically improve workflow, and AI-powered interpretation algorithms like GE’s VERITAS algorithm that boasts as high as 97% detection rate of A-Fib or atrial flutter.

Types of ECG Machines

ECG machines are commonly classified according to the number of leads they can provide. A 12-lead ECG will generate 12 leads, a 5-lead ECG will generate 5 leads, and so on. A lead is a graphical representation of the heart’s electrical activity, and this is gathered using electrodes attached to the torso and limbs. If your priority is getting the most comprehensive data possible, go for a 12-lead ECG.

Other types of ECGs are Stress Test ECG Machine, Holter Monitor ECG Machine, and Ambulatory BP Monitors.

ECG machines are also classified as stand-alone or PC-based. Most ECG machines in the market are stand-alone box-type ECGs that can measure and record ECG waveforms on their own. PC-based ECGs, on the other hand, are connected to a computer or tablet where ECG software is installed. A PC-based ECG basically transforms any computer into an ECG device.

You’ll also see ECG machines labeled as 1, 3, 6, or 12-channel ECGs. This refers to how many leads the device can print on a single sheet of paper. A 12-channel ECG can print all leads on a single sheet of paper, a 6-channel ECG can print 6 leads on one sheet of paper, and so on. Some ECGs are also called “multichannel” which means that they have the option to switch between 12-, 6-, 3-, and 1-channel printing.

How Much Does an ECG Machine Cost?

ECG machine costs can range anywhere from $2000 for the standard models to as high as $20,000 for models with advanced features like state-of-the-art algorithms, detection, and analysis technologies.

Standard ECG machines are usually more than enough for small to medium healthcare facilities. 12-lead ECGs cost around $2000 to $6000. If the budget is tight, you can opt for 5-lead or 3-lead ECGs which fall below $2000. Compact ECGs are also cost-effective options.

Where to Buy your ECG Machine

When choosing where to buy an ECG machine, make sure to purchase from an authorized reseller of authentic ECG devices. Customer support is also a major factor to consider. Everyone can sell an ECG machine, but not every seller provides hassle-free customer support before, during, and after sales. Make sure they have a hotline, chat support, and an email address to send your concerns to. It will also be easier on your part if your retailer has all the Cardiology Accessories you need to conduct ECG tests such as Electrodes, Mounting and Storage, Chart Papers, and Cables. Our Store meets these criteria and more!

Tiger Medical has an extensive line of ECG / EKG Machines and more Cardiology Equipment from top brands including Welch Allyn, GE, Edan, and Schiller. If you’re looking for a new ECG machine, make sure to browse our shop to avail our low prices and exclusive discounts.
