C. Difficile Tests

C. Difficile Tests are used to detect Clostridium Difficile (C. Difficile) and its toxins that cause symptoms ranging from diarrhea to life-threatening inflammation of the colon. It may be present in the digestive tract of up to 65% of healthy infants and 3% of healthy adults. Usually producing two toxins, the C. Difficile is resistant to antibiotics while remaining in the digestive tract and begins to overgrow.
