Adtemp Tympanic IR Ear Thermometer

The Adtemp™ 424 Tympanic IR Thermometer is a great thermometer to use for children. It is both fast and accurate and is used by placing the tip in an individual's ear and waiting only one second for the result. It can be used in Fahrenheit and Celsius, and has a temperature range of 89.6° F - 108° F and 32° C - 42.2° C. It has an accuracy of plus or minus .4° F and .2° C, which is within the requirements of the ASTM E1965-98 rating of accuracy.

The Adtemp™ 424 Tympanic Thermometer features an alarm that sounds if the temperature reaches 99.5° F, or 37.5° C, and beeps when the accurate temperature has been determined. It has an auto-off feature which avoids unnecessary depletion of the battery. It uses a 1.55v (CR2032) battery, which lasts for about 1,000 uses. The thermometer features a large lit up digital display for easy readings and stores the last reading.

There is a storage case included and it also comes with 20 probe sheaths, which are required for use. The thermometer measures 5.5” L x 1” W x 0.79” H and weighs 1.59 oz. It is latex free, water proof, and has a two year warranty.
