The BD Affirm VPIII Ambient Temperature Specimen Transport System is a sterile system used to collect, transport, and preserve vaginal specimens. It stabilizes the nucleic acid of Candida species, Gardnerella vaginalis, and Trichomonas vaginalis during specimen transport at 15-30°C for up to 72 hours. This specimen transport kit is to be used only with BD Affirm VPIII Microbial Identification Test and for transport times that are expected to exceed one hour at ambient temperature (15-30°C) or 4 hours at refrigerated temperatures (2-8°C).
