The ALGICELL Calcium Alginate Dressing is a sterile absorbent rope used to pack dead space in a wound. The dressing is soft and white, it can absorb moderate to large amounts of drainage and can control bleeding.

The dressing has the ability to gel upon contact with wound fluids. This allows for a moist wound healing environment. The dressing stays intact so that removal is easy and pain free.

When using the calcium alginate a second dressing is needed to hold the alginate in place and protect the wound from contamination.
