The BD BBL™ CultureSwab™ Plus Collection and Transport System, 50 per Pack is designed for enhanced convenience and advanced performance characteristics. This system contains 5 mL Amies agar Gel Column with Oxygen-Scavenging Agents and is intended for the collection, preservation, and transport of both aerobic and facultative anaerobic organisms. Excellent Design. With its innovative implementation, the BBL™ CultureSwab™ Plus Swab design is made to provide superior performance for microorganism recovery. The swabs feature a secure double-action cap that prevents the specimen from drying out or leaking which eliminates the need of recollection or cross-contamination. The included caps are color-coded for the simplicity of identification of the swabs for different applications. A longer, 5 1/4" Shaft adds flexibility making it simpler to reach tough sampling sites. The swab's tips are made of non-toxic material that is neutral to microorganisms and patients. These BBL™ tubes contain large polyurethane sponges that create an ideal reservoir for liquid samples during transportation. Its rounded bottom design allows the tubes to stand upright in common stands. To ensure a single-use application, each tube contains a tamper-evident seal.
