The BD BBL Gram Stain Kit, Stabilized is used to stain microorganisms from cultures or specimens using the differential Gram method. This kit contains 250mL gram crystal violet, 250mL iodine, 250mL gram decolorizer, and 250mL gram safranin. Complete stain kits reduce the mess often experienced with Gram staining procedures. Each color-coded solution bottle is break-resistant and has a hinged spot cap for easier flow regulation and spill prevention. The stabilized iodine solution (L-polyvinylpyrrolidone-iodine) included in this kit requires no mixing and has a long shelf life.
