The high-quality of heat and moisture exchangers from Medtronic exceeds the ASTM standard for heated humidifiers, reducing cost versus heated humidification. These DAR™ Mechanical Filters are suited for Adult and Pediatric patients, with the combined efficiency of the mechanical filter plus the HME mechanism. Medtronic filters increase anti-microbial protection and patient humidification with a mechanical hydrophobic membrane that protects against cross-contamination.

The hygroscopic membrane inside the device traps the patient's moisture, providing effective airway humidification. As is common with Medtronic products, this filter has a very low resistance to airflow, which makes it easier for patients to breathe through the circuit. The effective moisture control from the filter/HME combination reduces the risk of bacterial colonization in breathing tubes, as well as reducing sampling line blockage. These filters also come with the standard end tidal CO2 sampling port (which offers convenient access to airway gases). They come with ISO standard 15mm and 22 mm fittings, and they are supplied clean and individually packaged.

Usage indications

For adult (recommended tidal volume > 150 ml), single patient use on both anesthetized patients and respiratory care patients that require a breathing circuit.

This product is intended to be replaced at least once every 24 hours.
