DAR™ Mechanical Filters from Medtronic are highly-efficient filters that offer excellent bacterial and viral filtration efficiency. These mechanical filters work via a hydrophobic membrane that prevents cross contamination caused by aerosolized droplets. DAR filters come with an end tidal CO2 sampling port, which offers easy access for airway gas monitoring. These filters come in three different models: Small, Compact, and Large, with an additional Large model that does not feature the end tidal CO2 sampling port. Each unit is supplied clean and individually packaged. Medtronic DAR Mechanical Filters are tested for HIV, Hep C, and TBC filtration to ensure top-quality performance. They are very lightweight, and can greatly reduce dead space on any respiratory circuit. They also help reduce chances of bacterial colonization and filter blockage by restricting the passage of liquid through the membrane.
