The BD Illinois Sternal/Iliac Bone Marrow Aspiration Needle is a disposable intraosseous (IO) infusion needle designed for delivering fluids and drugs through vascular access especially to critically injured and ill children. As a sternal and iliac needle, the Illinois is built to effectively penetrate the bone to ensure a safe and simple bone marrow aspiration from the sternum or iliac crest. Features include an adjustable depth guard to provide penetration depth control and a sharp lancet point to ensure the practitioner’s comfort and enhance the patient’s safety. It is also built with a twist-off cap to hold the stylet in place. The needle comes with a luer slip/lock connection to fit any syringe.
