The Baseline Martin Breadth Caliper is a 20-inch scale marked with both imperial and metric measurements. The hinged caliper measures the distance between two opposite points on the body such as chest, shoulder, pelvis, and other body parts. The measurements can be used to track medical progress during physical therapy with accuracy and repeatability.
The Martin Breadth Caliper is designed with one arm that has an affixed scale and a second arm that moves along the scale to open the tips of the caliper around the part of the body being measured. The scale is marked in both centimeter and inches increments for accurate readings. The calipers curve out just before the tips curve inward to allow an easy grip on the calipers that won’t block the view of where the calipers are being placed on the patient. The caliper is designed with enough tension in the hinge to allow the caliper to be moved away from the patient without losing the measurement that has been taken.
