The Baseline Mechanical Pinch Gauge is designed to aid therapists in accurately measuring the hand strength of their patients so they may more effectively design individualized treatment plans for each user and objectively track their progress and improvement. Accurate measurements help clinicians more effectively create custom treatment plans for each user’s needs, while also offering a reliable solution for objectively tracking progress. These gauges can be used to measure pinch strength in three different ways: Tip pinch (thumb-index pulp pinch), Palmer pinch (chuck pinch), and Key pinch (lateral pinch). The maximum reading will remain until it is reset to zero for easy comparison.

These pinch gauges are available in various capacities, and are color-coded for convenience and organization. Gold (2 lb. capacity) and Silver (10 lb. capacity) are more often employed for hand weakness and damage, while Blue (30 lb. capacity) and Red (60 lb. capacity) are utilized for orthopedic and sports medicine.
