Covidien Kendall Polysorb Absorbable Sutures are made of Lactomer glycolide/lactide copolymer, and are coated with a mixture of caprolactone/glycolide copolymer and calcium stearoyl lactylate. Polysorb sutures are colored come in violet and undyed. The colored violet sutures make them more visible. The Polysorb sutures are braided tightly so that there is less trauma to the tissue. The tight braid allows for first rate knot security. The Polysorb sutures have excellent strength out of the package giving maximum wound support. The Tri-coined premium reverse cutting edge needle has properties that are best used for ophthalmic procedures and traction suture placement. It assists in better approximation of tough tissue.
