Functional and Useful Construction. Made with sterile and absorbable materials, the PolySyn Polyglycolic Acid Sutures can easily be broken down and taken in by the patient's body over a sufficient time which promotes full healing and recovery of the wound. It can essentially be absorbed between 49 to 63 days but has a complete mass absorption in 50 to 90 days and has a Breaking Strength Retention (BSR) of 50% at 2 weeks and 20% at 3 weeks. The Suture is violet braided and coated which reduces tissue drag. It is double-armed (has a needle at each end) and, depending on the chosen size, a suggested usage indication. The Size 5-0 is an optimal choice for large vessel repair and skin closure tendon repair while the Size 6-0 is great for small vessel repair/grafting and fine suturing on the hand/nailbed & face.
