My current (old) foot control is sporadic.
Is it worth $150 -$200 replacement?
The foot pedal depresses a rocker assembly in the bottom plate which then pushes (upward) into respective momentary switches mounted on a PC board. The PC board is held in position by integrated (plastic) compression clips on each side.
These plastic clips easily wear out or crack under heavy stress and prevents the PC board and momentary switches from fully engaging...leading to a presumed 'broken' ecm module. Attempting to repair these plastic clips is impossible due to the stress and loading of the person's foot pressing into the device.
Any epoxy repair to these plastic clips will work for maybe one day, but will fail eventually due to the tremendous loading a typical foot switch experiences.
And, why there are 8 control wires for a simple open/close momentary connection?? It is beyond my comprehension. Oveengineering at its finest.
Word of advice : step gently on the foot switches and yours will last a long time.
The item arrived on time and perfect condition. I was able to install it immediately and works perfectly fine.
