The BD Safe-T-Centesis Pigtail Catheter Drainage Tray contains components used in both thoracentesis and paracentesis procedures. The Safe-T-Centesis device helps alleviate the risks involved in percutaneous needle placement and, with the other components included in the tray, allows for procedural flexibility. BD Eclipse safety needles are also included in the package which doubles down with the Safe-T-Centesis device's built-in safety measures.

The Safe-T-Centesis device is built with a remote stopcock that facilitates drainage or extension connections, and prevents any unnecessary movement. The self-sealing valve prevents any possible leakage, and makes room for reinserting safety introducer needle assembly during maintenance. The Veress technology dual-lumen blunt obturator built with the echogenic needle avoids patient perforation and acts as protection against needlestick injuries. It is also built with a pigtail catheter with four ports on the inside apex that prevents occlusion.
