Covidien's Sterile Salem Sump Sasogastric Tube is a double Lumen PVC tube that allows for safer continuous and intermittent gastric suctioning. The large lumen allows for easy suction of gastric contents, decompression, irrigation and medication delivery.

The smaller vent lumen allows for atmospheric air to be drawn into the tube and equalizes the vacuum pressure in the stomach once the contents have been emptied. This prevents the suction eyelets from adhering to and damaging the stomach lining.

An X-ray opaque Sentinel Line with Sentinel Eye tubing allows for easy identification of the tube and tip location via X-ray. A funnel connector with a removable 5-in-1 adapter makes attachment to the suction catheter quick and easy. The 5-in1 adapter can be capped with the funnel end of the vent lumen for easy closing of the system for non-use or patient transportation. The tube can be maintained easily with the irrigation funnel through the sump vent lumen.

The PVC tube can be used up to 1-3 days with proper care and maintenance.
