The Quidel Solana GBS Molecular Assay Kit, 48 Tests per Kit is an in vitro rapid medical diagnostic test made for the qualitative detection of Group B Streptococcus taken from a patient's vaginal/rectal swabs from following 18 to 24 hours incubation in LIM or Carrot broth cultures.

Compact and Easy-to-Use. Intended for use only with the Solana Instrument, the Solana GBS Molecular Assay Kit utilizes Helicase-Dependent Amplification (HDA) Technology for the augmentation of a highly conserved fragment of the Thiolase (atoB) gene sequence. With an overnight LIM or Carrot broth culture, the specimen taken from a swab is lysed by simple heat treatment, aliquoted and added to a Reaction Tube which contains Lyophilized Master Mix HDA Reagents which has an easy-to-use format. Results are provided in 30 minutes and are displayed on the Solana's touchscreen and can be saved on it, printed, sent to the LIS or exported through one of four USB ports.
