The Quidel Solana GBS Molecular Assay Kit is an in vitro, rapid medical diagnostic test for the qualitative detection of Group B Streptococcus from a patient's vaginal/rectal swab. This test requires 18 to 24 hours of incubation in LIM or Carrot broth cultures.

HELICASE-DEPENDENT AMPLIFICATION (HDA): Uses advanced HDA technology to amplify a conserved fragment of the Thiolase (atoB) gene sequence for reliable detection.

SIMPLE SAMPLE PREPARATION: Specimens from LIM or Carrot broth cultures are lysed by heat, added to reaction tubes with lyophilized reagents, and processed in the Solana instrument — no complex steps required.

BUILT-IN QUALITY CONTROL: Includes a process control (PRC) to monitor sample integrity, reagent performance, and device function for dependable accuracy.

FAST, FLEXIBLE RESULTS: Provides results in 30 minutes, viewable on the Solana touchscreen, printable, and exportable via four USB ports or to the LIS through the Virena® System.
