The sensor can be used in the finger for adults and on the foot of an infant or child, and uses infrared light, delivering blood oxygen measurements which are reflected in the device. It is used together with the SpO2 Extension cable, which is included in the X Series Patient Monitors. This finger sensor is compatible with the following Edan Patient Monitors: M3, M3B, iM3, iM3s, iM8, iM70, iM60, iM50, iM20, X8, X10, X12, F6 Express, F9 Express, Elite V5, Elite V6, Elite V8, H100B, & iT20.
