The XTRASORB HCS Dressing features a twofold mode of action, it acts as a hydrogel by hydrating dry to lightly exuding wounds and it also acts as a hydrocolloid by absorbing moderate amounts of exudates. This dressing can absorb considerably more exudates compared to other hydrocolloid dressings and is comfortable for the patient,

The dressing is formed of one half water /glycerin mix for hydration, and half a Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose (Sodium CMC) / super absorbent polymer blend for high gelling and absorption. When fluid enters the dressing it creates a gel that acts as a cushion and stays in place not leaving a messy residue in the wound bed.

Some great features include a cooling sensation upon application, transparent dressing for easy observation, gelatin free leaving no odor, conformable to even hard to dress areas of the skin.

The dressing can be used on a variety of chronic and acute wounds including pressure ulcers, venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, arterial ulcers, postoperative wounds, donor sites, traumatic wounds.
