The ICON DS Strep A is a rapid qualitative immunochromatographic assay that is easy to use and offers quick accurate results. The test is a dipstick format that gives results directly from a throat swab specimens.

Results are available within five minutes so that treatment can be started immediately. The ICON DS strep A test boasts exceptional performance, even in low colony count samples. It features 96.2% sensitivity, 98.0% overall accuracy and 98.7% specificity. This allows for accurate diagnoses avoiding the chance of over prescription of antibiotics and rheumatic fever. The test is CLIA waived.
