The Ictotest® Reagent Tablets are used to chemically test for bilirubin in urine. The tablet can test as little as 0.05-0.1 mg/dl bilirubin.

This test is used to confirm a positive bilirubin dipstick. Bilirubin in the urine can indicate liver disease or intra- or extra-hepatic biliary tract obstruction.

To perform the test a fresh urine sample is needed, ten drops of urine are dropped onto the center of the test mat. A tablet is placed in the center of the moist mat. Water is dropped onto the tablet, the mat is observed after 60 seconds. If the mat turns blue or purple that means bilirubin is present.

Use the instructions provided with the tablets. Store at room temperature. CLIA waived.
